Completing my Master of Public Health in Global Health at Harvard University

PGY5 in ED training. I locumed as well while I was developing my military engineer career. Also took some time off to travel and do some global health clinical work.
What was your ‘big break’?
Getting into Harvard! It’s opened an extraordinary number of doors and opportunities for me to see the world and make a difference at a health systems level.
Where are you headed / What’s your dream job? Are you in it now?
I’m hoping to do programmatic work, humanitarian work and further study in global health systems. I hope to do a doctoral level of study in public health. My dream job would be working on major development projects in global health through major iNGOs or GOs.
What did you study that has helped you (during or since medical school)?
I spent a lot of time doing global health studies, activism and advocacy work, which really framed what I wanted to contribute to as a ‘grown up’.
Top tip for students interested in a similar global health pathway?
Keep it on the agenda! Buck the status quo! Just apply! Go!
When I am not doing global health you’ll find me…
Working on a bunch of other cross-sectoral (mostly IT projects) – everything in global health and beyond for some reason needs an app!
