AMSA Global Health’s Policy Officer, global health groups, AMSA Global health representatives and passionate medical students work closely with AMSA developing policies on a number of issues relevant to contemporary global health and medical students.
During this process, a position statement put together by any or all of these parties becomes official AMSA policy when it is ratified by the AMSA National Council. Once it is ratified it is then presented to the relevant bodies and made public. Some of the most recent issues on which AMSA has formed policy includes the current treatment of international students, climate change and health, as well as inter-professional education.
