AMSA Election Briefers

Have you ever wanted to contact your local politicians, but don’t know where to start? Do you want to add your voice to medical student campaigns? Would you like to seek meaningful change on global health issues?

AMSA presents our election briefers, as the commencement to our election-based advocacy campaigns!

Between the budget (May 3rd) and the election (July 2nd) AMSA will be running its national “AMSA Advocates” Program in which medical students from all around Australia will be meeting with the candidates and members who are standing for their local electorates.

Just sign up to the google form below, and you will receive a list of all the key advocacy areas that AMSA will be focusing on, along with some resources and tools to help with discussing these topics with members of parliament.

We have created topic-specific documents outlining the key asks that we believe should be discussed with politicians during the 2016 election. By discussing these asks with your local member, you are contributing to a nationwide effort to improve the Australian and global health.

Once you have read through these resources, you will be in a better position to generate action on Refugee and Asylum Seeker Health, Climate Change, and more!

If you would like further assistance with campaigning during the election, get in touch! Just contact vce@globalhealth.amsa.org.au for more information.
