What was your ‘big break’?
It really opened my eyes to the world of global health.

Where are you headed/what’s your dream job? Are you in it now?
I’d love to become a physician specialising in public health, and then ideally work in an advisory capacity for an international government on public health policy.

What did you study that has helped you (during or since medical school)?
It’s not so much what I’ve studied, but what I’ve attended (various GHCs/AMSA Global Health Councils have been central); as well as simply getting involved.

Top tips for students interested in a similar global health pathway?
If you’re passionate about a role, apply for it!! It doesn’t matter if you have no relevant experience, I’ve always found in my teams that the passionate kids with less experience are incomparably better to work with than experienced ones that lack enthusiasm. And the worst thing that could happen is that you apply and don’t get the position, which is the same outcome as if you don’t apply at all.

When I’m not doing global health, you’ll find me…
Playing basketball or reading a book
